"Magical Banyan Tree" -- A preliminary study of interdisciplinary project-based teaching in Qinglanshan Primary School
On September 1, under the leadership of Mr. Zhao Xuebin, principal of Primary School of Qinglanshan School, science teacher Chang Lin, art teacher Shen Xiadan and calligraphy teacher Liu Hongyuan discussed the curriculum plan repeatedly, forming a cooperative prototype of interdisciplinary project-style teaching of science and art。The teaching program involves the integration of scientific plant observation methods and artistic outdoor sketching experience to fully mobilize students' vision, hearing and touch for independent learning。
With the sunshine in the early morning of Friday, the hard-working teachers prepared the team to rush to the class place in Yuehe Lake Park to prepare for the work。
At 8 o 'clock in the morning, all the Grade 1 students went to the class place under the guidance of the class teacher and began the outdoor lively and interesting "Magical Banyan Tree" course。Science not only happens in the classroom and the laboratory, but also in nature, today let us approach the Moon Lotus Lake, close to the big banyan tree!
In class, by watching the video of the Olympic athlete Xing Aowei climbing banyan tree, the theme of today - big banyan tree。When the kids were asked what they thought of the video,One cute little girl said perseverance,I give her a thumbs up,She's amazing! In science, we need the spirit of scientific exploration without fear of difficulties and perseverance! Then walk into the big banyan tree in front of us to observe, measure and make our little wishes,Have a preliminary perceptual understanding of big ficus tree。
Outdoor sketching class is an important teaching method in art teaching. Walking into nature allows students to truly see the original features of nature, such as lush trees and familiar insects......Children are particularly interested in the objective existence of things, in the sensitive period of painting, their desire to express is particularly strong, through the guidance of teachers, they can devote their attention to learning, to express their own inner world, which is also the special charm of life painting class。
In the natural scene, by mobilizing the senses to observe, focus on learning to use different lines of thickness, density, length, straight or curved to express the appearance characteristics of the banyan tree, and even use exaggerated deformation lines to describe the banyan tree in their own painting language, while watching, while remembering, while painting。
In the class works comment section, the teacher selected two representative works to explain. In one of the works, the straight line and arc are well compared, which truly reproduces the tall and straight physical characteristics of the ficus tree, and also portrays the long lines of the unique air root of the ficus tree, which is a relatively realistic work。The lines of another student's work have a strong exaggerated expression, and the bold use of deformed symbols to abstract express its lush growth of vitality。
The students found the strangeness of the big banyan tree from the painting, and the teacher asked the question - what is the role of the qi root of the big banyan tree?Around the in-depth discussion of the problem, the children spoke very enthusiastically, "teacher, there is a supporting role", "can absorb water", "oh, can also absorb nutrition", the understanding of the big banyan tree continues to deepen。From science to nature and learn from the big banyan tree, I believe that children will be inspired, in the face of every new challenge will continue to adapt and thrive as a "giant tree".。Ms. Ding Xiaomei of the Chinese Language Group recited the poem fragments of Tagore's Banyan Tree under the gentle and tender music of the cello "Praise of Love"。James, the drama English teacher, is good at understanding the emotional connotation of poetry. Through the changes of expressions and body movements, he played this classic poem with deep feeling. The children applauded the two teachers for their wonderful recitation。
This lesson is coming to an end in the beautiful music, the teachers hope that through the intuitive experience of outdoor teaching, establish the children's environmental awareness, physical practice, from now on, to fight for the small master of environmental protection!
Calligraphy teacher Liu Hongyuan led all the students to write their names on the long roll, which is our environmental protection resolution!Very Chinese style signature rolls we will always treasure, because this is the children's heart。
This PBL course came to an end in the bright laughter of the children. Today, you and I have taken the first step of interdisciplinary teaching together. In the future, we will continue to try and bring more happy learning experience to the children!
